MGS4 to 360 All But Confirmed?

One of the last pillars of PS3 third party strength is showing signs of crumbling. While I once thought it highly unlikely that MGS4 would go to 360, a quote from Kojima studios during an interview at 1up makes a 360 port sound inevitable.

"Payton knows fans have legitimate concerns about Kojima Productions possibly compromising the game's ambition due to issues arising from concurrent Xbox 360 development -- divided resources, less disc space, etc. -- and he addressed those directly:

"I can tell you honestly at this point, we have not changed the game in any form with the idea of 'oh, we got to do this on 360.' Put aside whether or not we're developing for 360 or not, the game is built on the PS3 hardware, as you guys have known for the past two years or so."

In other words: if MGS4 comes to Xbox 360, it has not affected the game's development. This is the same game Hideo Kojima decided to produce from day one. Make sure to listen to the podcast for more from Payton and the 1UP boys about Snake, Xbox 360 vs. PS3 and more."

If MGS4 goes to 360, Sony will have no choice but to fall back to it's last line of defense, Fortress FF XIII. How long this once thought impregnable fort can hold is anyone's guess.

April NPD Sales Totals- Nintendo World Order Confirmed

Nintendo DS 471k
Wii 360k

PlayStation 2 194k
PlayStation Portable 183k
Xbox 360 174k
Game Boy Advance 84k
PlayStation 3 82k
GameCube 13k

Man, those PS3 sales are depressing. It was defeated in it's grudge match with the GBA again, ridiculous. And Nintendo continues it's utter domination. I think at this point it is pretty much fated to win this generation for sure.

Amazing Article: What if Sci-Fi Was a Chinese Invention?

This is an incredible alternative-history article that looks at sci fi if I had been originally developed by the Chinese. including photoshopped covers and elaborate fan disputes over various author's significance, and so on. I have always been a fan of alternative history that looks at how things would be different if just certain little tiny things were changed. Anyone can write about how the world would be different if the Germans won WW II, but if the Chinese invented sci fi? Now that takes imagination!

Petition to Release the Rob Kreh Show on DVD

One thing the Rob Kreh fan community has been buzzing about lately has been an overwhelming demand for releasing the brilliant but short lived Rob Kreh Show on DVD. No one is too sure about the exact amount of episodes filmed. Most Rob Kreh historians estimate about 3-4, while still acknowledging some of the whispers that there were other episodes that were never released for mass public consumption, seen perhaps once on a sleepy late-night broadcast on the local public access channel.

One thing is certain, the Rob's first major foray into the world of entertainment proved all too ephemeral, but nonetheless burned like a tiny supernovae during it's short lifespan. Hardcore Rob Kreh fans appreciate this film for it's spirit of dash and daring optimisim, containing none of the fatalistic cynicism of his most famous work, Graceland. Here was a young Kreh, with his whole career ahead of him, just filming whatever random things he can.

Other Rob Kreh fans appreciate these earlier works for their historical value in showing his development toward becoming a full-fledged film director. The most famous scene from this pantheon of work would probably be the "Elvis Walking" scenes. Most fans think these scenes were clearly laying the thematic groundwork for Graceland. Some fans even believe that Kreh went mad while filming these scenes, thus transforming him from a Kutcherian wise guy to the director who would make the dark and gory Graceland.

Probably the single subject that is most hotly debated amongst historians is whether the Rob Kreh Show contained a infamous scene that nearly turned erupted El Dorado into a bloody inferno. While no known footage of such a scene exists today, there are some Rob Kreh fans who believe he filmed a scene that showed the unhygienic conditions that existed in Butler County Community College's cafeteria. This scene supposedly threw the city in to a state of near-rioting and came close to getting young Kreh expelled before his film career ever got started.

While one would naturally assume that such a historically significant piece of film would be carefully preserved, but to date not a single copy of it has ever surfaced, leading some to question if it ever even existed. Adding to the confusion is that people who swear to having seen it offer different recollections of what the scene was like. One fan on a Rob Kreh fan forum named "TaMpAD3VIL69" describes the film as showing a rat scurry across the screen, and dead bugs crawling around in a "primordial soup" of sorts that was later served to students as porridge. A different fan named "MJonesLova" says the scene shows a human hand being ground up and served as hamburger. Critics say that fans are delusional and that no such scene exists. If anything, they are confusing the Rob Kreh show with Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle". In any event, access to the master tapes of all Rob Kreh episodes should resolve this debate.

With the Graceland DVD containing one Rob Kreh SHow episode as a hidden easter egg, fans are in a near frenzy to get their hands on the remaining episodes. Consider this a petition by this humble author to this epic series on DVD. If you agree, sign below!

Food 2.0: The New Doritos

In a bold move that echoes the philosophy of the web 2.0 movement, Frito-Lay has launched a new brand of interactive, community-driven, highly processed snack chips. Behold! Doritos X-13D!

Described only as "American Classic" on the bag, Frito-Lay challenges you to submit your own title to snackstrongproductions.com. Naturally, I found them too intriguing to pass up. They actually taste almost exactly like a McDonalds Cheeseburger. They are really a technical wonder. I have to admit the first few bites of a cheeseburger-flavored tortilla chip will have your brain trying to tell you that this is something that you shouldn't be eating, but after that, they are too delicious to resist. I recommend everyone get a bag at your local supermarket and help celebrate the dawn of the food 2.0 era!

Quick Update

Sorry for the lack of posts, I have been studying hardcore for my A+ certification exams on Friday.

Just to give you guys something to chew on, I will link you to one of the greatest and most legendary unreleased games of all time: The Incredible Hulk for the Atari 2600. To date, no ROM of it has ever been discovered.
Check out the story behind this unreleased gem

Also, I had the new Diet Coke PLUS and I have to give it a resounding thumbs up. It has the most aesthetically pleasing can design I think i have ever seen. It is delightlfully retro yet futurist. This is the only image I could find, and it doesn't do it's true beauty justice. Here is the real kicker though, the whole gimmick behind the soda is that it is enriched with vitamins and minerals to make it extra hydrating and healthy. So basically it will leave you feeling refreshed and hydrated for the rest of the day and probably extend your lifespan by decades. So check it out, monkblog says buy a 12 pack or lose all stret cred at this blog permanently.
